PROGRAMME UPDATE

After much consideration, Ukie has made the difficult decision to pause the Video Games Ambassadors (VGA) programme for 2025.

This decision was not taken lightly. We understand the value the VGA programme has brought to educators and young people, and we are incredibly proud of its achievements to date. However, after discussions with our delivery partner, Into Games, we were made aware of the scale of the challenge being tackled by the Video Games Ambassadors and their need for either additional resources or a refreshed approach to ensure sustainability and impact.

By pausing the programme, we aim to re-evaluate the programme’s goals and its alignment with Ukie’s broader initiatives, including our Supercharged strategy, as well as ensure the VGA programme is positioned to meet the needs of educators while delivering maximum impact. We also intend to explore funding opportunities and new ways to deliver the programme sustainably in the future.

While the VGA platform will no longer accept new registrations after February 28, 2025, and opportunities ending after that will be managed separately, there are still plenty of ways to get involved with Ukie Education and other initiatives. These include but are not limited to, mentoring a team at the Ukie Student Game Jam, and or joining the Into Games Volunteer network.

Finally, while the VGA Slack and LinkedIn page will remain open, they will no longer be actively monitored or updated. For future communications, please contact
vga@ukie.org.uk.

We are optimistic about what lies ahead and thank Into Games as well as all those who have supported the VGA programme. We look forward to sharing updates on the future of the programme later this year.
